Volunteer Receptionist – Bridlington Community Hub

ROLE TITLE:                   Volunteer Receptionist

REPORTS TO:                  Bridlington Community Hub Centre Coordinator

RESPONSIBLE FOR:     No line management responsibilities

 

Main Duties:

The receptionist is the first face the users of the Bridlington Community Hub see when they come in, so we are looking for a volunteer who can be friendly, welcoming and helpful to the people who use the centre. We are a busy centre so there are regular visitors to support and some admin tasks to complete.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Answering the door, letting people in, ensuring they sign in and out
  • Providing customer service to hub users: welcoming them, directing them to the right room
  • Being aware of the activities going on each day so as to inform the visitors that enquire
  • Using our directory of local services to signpost visitors to a service they need that we don’t have
  • Checking the room bookings on the booking website
  • Administration tasks such as helping users make a booking online and updating the signing in system.

 

General Job Tasks

  • Ensure that members of the Bridlington Community Hub team are kept adequately informed of their work and that information is provided as requested
  • To participate in planning and team building activities within ERVAS and to contribute to the core operation and development of the organisation
  • Take part in supervision/appraisal meetings as agreed in line with ERVAS policy
  • Undertake in-service training as appropriate
  • Respect confidentiality of all information acquired through working at ERVAS within the framework of the confidentiality policy
  • To work in a self-servicing capacity
  • Adhere to all ERVAS’s internal policies and procedures
  • Undertake any other duties required by the project

 

NB: Please also note that the volunteer will participate in the general activities of the organisation.
